Ca Mau is a province in the Mekong Delta region with three sides adjacent to the sea. The north is bordered by Kien Giang and Bac Lieu provinces, the east and south by the South China Sea, the west by Thai Lan Gulf. It has a natural area of 5,221km2, population of 1,222,575 people and 09 administrative units, including Ca Mau city and Cai Nuoc, Dam Doi, Nam Can, Ngoc Hien, Phu Tan, Thoi Binh, Tran Van Thoi and U Minh districts. Ca Mau has diverse natural resources with two National Parks, Ramsar Site, World Biosphere Reserve and two specific ecosystems: mangrove forest and freshwater swamp forests. Ca Mau sea has abundant seafood reserves and there are great oil and gas potentialities. Besides, beautiful islands and island clusters such as Hon Khoai Island, Hon Chuoi Island, Da Bac Island, etc along with the romantic long beach, etc is favorable conditions for the development of ecological tourism and countryside tourism. At Ca Mau Cape, alluvial deposition forms large mudflats. The land further encroaches upon the sea a few dozen meters every year. Only coming here, we feel a land where “the land may expand, forest may walk and the sea may flourish.”
