Ca Mau Province attended the seminar on promoting investment in Mekong Delta’s green tourism
In the framework of Mekong Delta Green Tourism Week in 2015 held in Can Tho, on June 30, 2015, the Southwest Steering Committee; the State bank of Viet Nam; Ministry of Planning and Investment; Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Can Tho City People’s Committee presided at the seminar on promoting investment in Mekong Delta’s green tourism.
The seminar was attended by Mr. Vu Van Ninh, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister, Head of the Southwest Steering Committee; Mr. Nguyen Phong Quang, Deputy Head of the Southwest Steering Committee, Co-chairman of Green Tourism Week Steering Committee; Mr. Le Vinh Tan, Deputy Head of the Central Economic Committee; Mr. Dao Minh Tu, Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam; Mr. Vuong Duy Bien, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu, Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment and Representatives of the ministries, central sectors and 13 provinces/cities in the Mekong Delta; Representatives of Consulate General of some countries in Vietnam; JICA (Japan); investors, domestic and foreign enterprises.
Speaking at the seminar, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Van Ninh emphasized that to promote the tourism potentialities of the Mekong Delta, it was necessary to make investment in brainpower, finance, technology and human resources. Accordingly, the Deputy Prime Minister called on tourism businesses to promote investment in the Mekong Delta. At the same time, the Deputy Prime Minister directed the ministries, branches and localities to have support and priority policies for businesses in terms of administrative procedures, financial resources and technology.
For the Mekong Delta tourism, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Van Ninh introduced some solutions such as development of specific products of each locality; link for regional tourism development in a uniform and overlapped manner; formation of investment plans, infrastructure construction associated with tourism. In particular, two important solutions were to train professional human resources for tourism and raise awareness and behavior culture of people in tourism, aiming at making every citizen become a tour guide.
The seminar attracted the attention of many investors, domestic and foreign enterprises, international organizations, the State management agencies in the field of tourism. The representatives of the leaders of Ca Mau Province who attended the seminar included Mr. Tran Hong Quan, Vice Chairman of Ca Mau province People’s Committee and representatives of the Department of Planning and Investment; Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Tourism Promotion and Information Center and the tourism companies in the locality such as International eco-tourism zone, Anh Nguyet hotel, Ca Mau Union Labor Services – Tourism Co., Ltd. At the seminar, International eco-tourism zone was one of three projects awarded the investment certificate, recorded the first efficiency of promotion of investment in tourism of 13 Mekong Delta provinces./.
